After a wonderful and relaxing journey through the Alps, Locarno can be reached in less than 2 hours from Zurich or Lucerne and in 3 hours from Basel and Bern via the famous Gotthard Alptransit base tunnel.
The Locarno railway station is 3.5 km from Ascona and the Hotel Elvezia can be reached by bus Line 1 Direction Losone Sottochiesa or by taxi.

By car

From the A2 motorway, take the ‘Bellinzona Sud, Lago Maggiore’ exit and follow the signs for Ascona. It is possible to reach the Hotel Elvezia in via G. Motta 15, by car, just to unload your luggage. The car can then be parked at the municipal car park in Ascona. Please ask at Reception for further information to obtain a daily discount.
